The week of Sep.22nd and Sep. 29th

Writing: We worked on Characters, settings and retell  for this week. We read the book " mouse steal oil" , they draw pictures about the story, sing the song. We also sat in small group and talked about where this happened and who's in that story, sing the mouth song together. We will continue this and compare different characters and settings  next week too.  I shared ideas with Ms.Murphy, English class did same theme, but different activities.

Reading: Community words about community helpers and different working place. We practiced "What do you want your job to be?" Also they draw pictures and talked about different community helper.

Math: Review place value and started greater than, less than, equal. We sang the rhyme when we did comparing:" e yu e yu, wo e le. wo yao chi na ge da da de." （鳄鱼鳄鱼，我饿了。我要吃那个大大的。"It means alligator, alligator, I am hungry. I want to eat the bigger one.

These two weeks Language art, math, social studies, and science theme

For the week of September 8th and Sep.15th

Mandarin: Moon Festival and my school

Math: Tens place value and ones place value

Science: Weather(rain, cloud, wind)

Social study: Recognize map and globe, know the country of China and America. Identify different locations between China and USA.

These are general themes of each subject. We may adjust some contents depends on the needs of students.

This Friday-Moon Festival

Dear Parents,

Hope you all had a good day! We will celebrate our traditional Chinese Festival-Moon Festival on this Friday which will be Sep. 12 th. We will start 1:45pm. We would like to invite you to join our first Chinese Festival celebration for our mandarin class in this brand new school year! We will combine two classes(Murphy and Bai) together to do some performance shows. Spend time with your kids! Having fun in the activities! Enjoy the Chinese culture show! We are waiting for you.:)

I make friends with the moom,
every body hold the lantern, and celebrate the Moon Festival.
